A Visual Glimpse Of The Project
Project Overview: This case study describes a construction project involving the creation of a new garden boundary wall with brick piers. The objective was to build a sturdy and visually appealing wall that would provide privacy and security to the garden area. Key features of the project included centered brick piers at 2.1 meters intervals, a foundation designed to withstand tree root penetration, and decorative brickwork patterns.
Project Scope: The project scope encompassed the following aspects:
- Construction of a new garden boundary wall with brick piers.
- Excavation of the sub-soil to create a suitable foundation.
- Formation of a foundation 600mm in width and 1000mm in depth.
- Installation of 20mm reinforced steel bar formwork to reinforce the foundation and prevent tree roots from undermining it.
- Incorporation of brick features, including diamond patterning, a bullseye opening, and an access gate on the side
Foundation Construction: To ensure the stability and longevity of the garden boundary wall, a robust foundation was constructed. The sub-soil was excavated to the required depth, removing any loose or unsuitable materials. The foundation was designed to be 600mm wide and 1000mm deep, providing a solid base for the wall. Additionally, a 20mm reinforced steel bar formwork was employed to reinforce the foundation and prevent tree roots from penetrating and undermining it.
Brickwork Features: The aesthetic appeal of the garden boundary wall was enhanced through the inclusion of various brickwork features. These features included diamond patterning, which involved the arrangement of bricks in a diamond-shaped pattern, adding visual interest to the wall. Furthermore, a bullseye opening was incorporated, providing a focal point within the wall and allowing for additional views and ventilation. To ensure convenient access to the garden area, an access gate was installed on one side of the wall.
Construction Process: The project commenced with the preparation of the foundation, including excavation and the placement of the reinforced steel bar formwork. Once the foundation was completed and inspected for quality, the construction of the garden boundary wall began. Skilled bricklayers meticulously laid bricks in accordance with the specified patterns, ensuring precision and consistency throughout the wall. Attention to detail was crucial during the construction process to maintain the desired visual appeal and structural integrity.
Conclusion: The construction of the garden boundary wall with brick piers successfully achieved the project objectives of providing privacy, security, and aesthetic enhancement to the garden area. The centred brick piers at 2.1 meters intervals added strength and stability to the wall, while the diamond patterning, bullseye opening, and access gate contributed to its visual appeal. The carefully constructed foundation, reinforced with steel bars, ensured the wall’s long-term stability and resistance to tree root penetration. Overall, the project resulted in a durable and aesthetically pleasing garden boundary wall that fulfilled the client’s requirements.
